Danny Willis

Danny Willis joined the sales and customer service team at Macon Hardwood in March of 2015. His responsibilities include marketing, sales, and building and growing positive working relationships with customers and vendors. Day to day, Danny ensures that customers’ concerns are addressed quickly and everyone is treated fairly. As Danny says, “So many customers tell me that if Macon Hardwood can’t find it, no one can! It feels good to know that our customers rely on our knowledge of products.”

Prior to joining Macon Hardwood, he held a variety of positions in sales, marketing and customer service at companies such as Walmart, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Geico. A lifelong learner, Danny is committed to deepening his knowledge of the wood flooring products and holds certifications from Dale Carnegie Training in the areas of communication, leadership and problem-solving.

Growing up in a military family, Danny has called a number of Southeast states his home, including Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida and Georgia. He’s now settled in Macon and spends his spare time fly fishing.

David Lee Sr.

When David Lee Sr. joined Macon Hardwood as a sales representative five years ago, he already had 35 years of experience in the sales of building materials at GA Pacific (now BlueLinx). David has a passion for selling wood products: “I feel I’m helping our customers build something that is beautiful and will be around for a long time.” Customers know they can turn to David for fair prices and efficient delivery.

David attended Pfeiffer University in Richmond, North Carolina, on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration degree. After graduation, he played semi-pro basketball in La Baule, France. A lifelong Macon resident, David is a member of the First Presbyterian Church and has been married to his high school sweetheart for 39 years. He loves spending time outdoors, enjoying inshore saltwater fishing as well hunting dove and duck. David is a proud parent to 3 children and 5 grandchildren and is already teaching his grandchildren some of his favorite hobbies.

Donna Daviss

Donna Daviss joined Macon Hardwood in June of 2015 and has already proven herself to be an invaluable addition to the team. Donna is the first friendly voice people hear when they call our office. Day to day, she keeps office operations running smoothly and liaises with our largest accounts to ensure incoming communication is properly routed and concerns are addressed in a timely manner. As Donna puts it, “I enjoy working on a team that has such an extensive knowledge of the flooring industry and uses this knowledge to benefit our customers.” Before joining Macon Hardwood, Donna spent 19 years at a publishing company in accounts receivable, marketing and customer service roles.

Donna resides in Warner Robins with her husband of 33 years, Glen. She is a proud mom to her daughter Julie, son-in-law Ethan, and grandson Daviss. In her spare time, Donna enjoys reading, vacationing at the beach and spending time with her family.

Jeff Layson

Jeff Layson brings more than 20 years of experience in purchasing and retail to Macon Hardwood. As the Chief Operating Officer, Jeff supervises and manages day-to-day operations of the office staff, ensuring that all products are delivered to their final destination on time and that customers are invoiced accurately. Prior to joining Macon Hardwood, he served as the VP of Operations and Information Systems for an industrial safety distributor and as a COO for a hardware store chain.

Jeff received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia College and State University in 1997. He prides himself in being able to solve system problems and making our organization run as efficiently as we possible. His hobbies include woodworking, general construction and being a tree farmer.

Rob Cottrill

When Rob Cottrill joined Macon Hardwood almost 4 years ago, he already had more than 30 years of experience in various positions in the manufacturing sector of the flooring industry. Rob is primarily responsible for new business development and particularly enjoys helping his clients succeed in growing their business and profits. With his deep knowledge of industry resources and excellent relationships with suppliers, Rob can match quality products with his clients’ needs and deliver them in a timely fashion. He values the sales-driven and positive atmosphere at Macon Hardwood.

Rob received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from the Ohio University. He works and lives in Kennesaw, Georgia (greater Atlanta area) with his wife Erica. In his spare time, Rob enjoys staying active with yoga, golf and woodworking.

Stephanie L. Spillers

Stephanie Spillers joined Macon Hardwood as a Logistics Manager in April of 2016. She ensures that freight is picked up and delivered in a timely manner and regularly communicates order status updates to vendors and customers. Stephanie echoes the company ethos of going the extra mile for our customers: “Taking pride in always providing superior customer service to the vendors, customers and my sales team is my daily goal here at Macon Hardwood.”

Stephanie has more than 21 years of experience in flooring and has held a variety of positions in the industry, including sales, logistics, and quality assurance. She resides in Macon and enjoys gardening, fishing, camping, spending time with family and friends, and doting on her granddaughter Raley Kate. Stephanie is a proud mom to her son Tony, daughter-in-law Brooke, and three 4-legged fur babies named Jake, Sadie and Har’leigh.

Russ McPherson

Russ McPherson joined our team in 2012 as a sales representative, responsible for sales, customer acquisition and retention. When Russ came to Macon Hardwood, he already had 10 years of sales experience in the transportation sector and 12 years of experience in medical sales under his belt. As Russ puts it, “If you can survive truck drives and doctors for 22 years, you can accomplish just about anything!” Russ has tremendously grown his sales skills in the flooring industry despite having no prior experience in it and is still dedicated to learning something new every day. He particularly takes pride in sourcing hard-to-find products for his customers and adds, “It brings me joy to help a customer find a true deal when we find it.”

Russ received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of West Alabama in Livingston. He lives in Spanish Fort, Alabama with his wife of 16 years, Leigh Anne; two boys, Rollins and Cooper; and his pets named Padme, Lucy and Carl. Russ enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, family beach time and watching his two sons play sports.
