Hickory

Hickory

Attributes Engineered hardwoods are built with multiple ply layers that are cross layered, glued and pressed together. The decorative wood species fused on top is commonly known as the wear layer. Hickory is native to North America and is the heaviest of American hardwoods. Hickory sapwood is white to cream in color; its heartwood is tan or reddish. There are usually marked differences in color between spring wood and summer wood. Hickory has a closed grain format with moderate definition and is fairly rough-textured.
