Bob Reese has been in the wood flooring industry for more than 25 years. In that time, he has held various roles, including positions in installation, retail sales, project management and, today, wholesale distribution sales. At Macon Hardwood, Bob is able to apply his in-depth knowledge of hardwood flooring to ensure customers get exactly what they are looking for: “It gives me great satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment when I am able to help my customer with their wood floor needs.”
Born and raised in the Augusta, Georgia area, Bob lived there until relocating to Macon in 2015. In his time off, he enjoy spending time with his family and participating in church activities. Bob and his wife Terry have been married for over 37 years and have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
Donna Daviss joined Macon Hardwood in June of 2015 and has already proven herself to be an invaluable addition to the team. Donna is the first friendly voice people hear when they call our office. Day to day, she keeps office operations running smoothly and liaises with our largest accounts to ensure incoming communication is properly routed and concerns are addressed in a timely manner. As Donna puts it, “I enjoy working on a team that has such an extensive knowledge of the flooring industry and uses this knowledge to benefit our customers.” Before joining Macon Hardwood, Donna spent 19 years at a publishing company in accounts receivable, marketing and customer service roles.
Donna resides in Warner Robins with her husband of 33 years, Glen. She is a proud mom to her daughter Julie, son-in-law Ethan, and grandson Daviss. In her spare time, Donna enjoys reading, vacationing at the beach and spending time with her family.
Jeff Layson brings more than 20 years of experience in purchasing and retail to Macon Hardwood. As the Chief Operating Officer, Jeff supervises and manages day-to-day operations of the office staff, ensuring that all products are delivered to their final destination on time and that customers are invoiced accurately. Prior to joining Macon Hardwood, he served as the VP of Operations and Information Systems for an industrial safety distributor and as a COO for a hardware store chain.
Jeff received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia College and State University in 1997. He prides himself in being able to solve system problems and making our organization run as efficiently as we possible. His hobbies include woodworking, general construction and being a tree farmer.
Jim Duffey joined Macon Hardwood in 2018. Before joining the team, he worked in manufacturing sales for a solid unfinished plank and strip mill that served all of North America. Jim’s prior experience includes 13 years of working in Distribution Sales and Management. From there, he went on to originate a line of custom hand-scraped flooring and marketed the line with distribution throughout the US. Jim has also served as the National Sales Manager for a European line of engineered prefinished products. Of settling into his new role, Jim says: “I have found a home with Macon Hardwood and will continue to develop new markets for this vibrant organization.”
Jim lives in Denver with his wife, Mary. They have two grown children who currently reside in California. Their favorite pastimes include cooking and entertaining, gardening and various activities in the great Colorado outdoors and what it offers for year-round recreation.
Jon Dowell joined Macon Hardwood as a sales representative in 2017. Prior to joining the team, he worked with a flooring distributor, handling the process of buying and re-selling to retailers as well as DTC. Jon has been in the flooring business for more than 30 years, and has held positions as an installer and sander before changing his path to work in retail sales. With experience selling flooring to contractors and commercial businesses, Jon brings extensive flooring and B2B knowledge to the Macon Hardwood team.
Jon lives in Myrtle Beach with his wife Cindy. When Jon is not at work, he and his wife enjoy the water and the beach.
When Rob Cottrill joined Macon Hardwood almost 4 years ago, he already had more than 30 years of experience in various positions in the manufacturing sector of the flooring industry. Rob is primarily responsible for new business development and particularly enjoys helping his clients succeed in growing their business and profits. With his deep knowledge of industry resources and excellent relationships with suppliers, Rob can match quality products with his clients’ needs and deliver them in a timely fashion. He values the sales-driven and positive atmosphere at Macon Hardwood.
Rob received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from the Ohio University. He works and lives in Kennesaw, Georgia (greater Atlanta area) with his wife Erica. In his spare time, Rob enjoys staying active with yoga, golf and woodworking.
Russ McPherson joined our team in 2012 as a sales representative, responsible for sales, customer acquisition and retention. When Russ came to Macon Hardwood, he already had 10 years of sales experience in the transportation sector and 12 years of experience in medical sales under his belt. As Russ puts it, “If you can survive truck drives and doctors for 22 years, you can accomplish just about anything!” Russ has tremendously grown his sales skills in the flooring industry despite having no prior experience in it and is still dedicated to learning something new every day. He particularly takes pride in sourcing hard-to-find products for his customers and adds, “It brings me joy to help a customer find a true deal when we find it.”
Russ received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of West Alabama in Livingston. He lives in Spanish Fort, Alabama with his wife of 16 years, Leigh Anne; two boys, Rollins and Cooper; and his pets named Padme, Lucy and Carl. Russ enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, family beach time and watching his two sons play sports.
Stephanie Spillers joined Macon Hardwood as a Logistics Manager in April of 2016. She ensures that freight is picked up and delivered in a timely manner and regularly communicates order status updates to vendors and customers. Stephanie echoes the company ethos of going the extra mile for our customers: “Taking pride in always providing superior customer service to the vendors, customers and my sales team is my daily goal here at Macon Hardwood.”
Stephanie has more than 21 years of experience in flooring and has held a variety of positions in the industry, including sales, logistics, and quality assurance. She resides in Macon and enjoys gardening, fishing, camping, spending time with family and friends, and doting on her granddaughter Raley Kate. Stephanie is a proud mom to her son Tony, daughter-in-law Brooke, and three 4-legged fur babies named Jake, Sadie and Har’leigh.
