White Oak

Attributes

Engineered hardwoods are built with multiple ply layers that are cross layered, glued and pressed together. The decorative wood species fused on top is commonly known as the wear layer. White Oak features sapwood which is white to cream in color; its heartwood is light brown and may even have a pink or slight gray hue. The grain of White Oak is open with longer rays than Red Oak. There is noticeable variance among boards in color and grain texture, but not nearly as heightened as it is in Red Oak. White Oak is the most popular wood for flooring. It is resistant to fungi and insects and has high shock resistance and great wear.
