The time-honored milling technique of rift & quartered wood is what makes this flooring option so special. The planks are cut at precise angles to the growth rings. The result is a more structurally sound hardwood with a signature “tiger-striped” appearance. Red Oak is a native North American wood species. Both its heartwoods and sapwoods have a reddish tone, with the sapwood being slightly lighter. Red Oak is one of the most widely used species for hardwood flooring; it is incredibly durable, adaptable to a wide range of stains and finishes, and possesses a pleasing grain and texture.
