Brazilian Teak

Unfinished Solid

Attributes

Light Cumaru is also known as Brazilian Teak. This South American wood has dramatic shading which mellows as the floor ages. Specifically, it is initially red-brown or purple-brown with streaks that are pale yellow-brown or purple. Over time, it becomes a uniform light brown or yellow-brown. Light Cumaru has a fine texture and a waxy feel.

Ideal For

Light cumaru is resistant to the ravages of insects, decay and time—it's one of the hardest woods in the world. These attributes make the wood an ideal choice for flooring applications as well as outdoor structures and decking.
